This is Kim, my dream for many, many years back. I have wanted a little Sheltie for as long as I can remember, but for various reasons I ended up with as different breeds as Labrador Retriever, West Highland White Terrier and Smooth Foxterrier (he is now living with my mom and dad, 12 years old). Recently I have two Toy Poodles, a black 6 year old male "Tintin", and a brown 4 year old female "Nikki".
At 3 ½ week old, we went to see him at his breeder, Vigdis Berg of La-Min-So's Shelties. She called him Erik! Photo: Roger Nilsson.
Here he is at 6 ½ weeks old, shown and evaluated for me by another norwegian breeder, AnneKarin Scheen. Photo: Ingrid Johansen.
And now, finally, added to our little family is Kim, a cute and wild (to say the least) tricolour boy. Many know my passion for his father, Norwegian and Swedish Champion Sunborne Tip Top Tric Track, called Drillo. The first time I saw him was 1 ½ year ago at a dogshow in Gothenburg. The weather was horrible, but as he entered the ring it was magic! There you can really talk about love at first sight!
It was not until later I came in contact with his owners, Ingrid and Jan Johansen at Imajan Shelties in Norway. We emailed a lot and she had some plans for Drillo, but since we absolutely wanted a tri boy, and also one that would probably look like a Sheltie ;-) we had to wait. And wait, and wait...
But now he is born, and safely arrived in our home after a long journey of about 460 kilometers... "Den norske gutt", the norwegian boy, has become a member of the swedish society! Ingrid and Jan has been so great to us, letting us stay over at their house, driving us several miles back and forth to Kim's breeder and some dogshows, and really taking care of us! Ingrid has also done a lot of job answering all my questions and helping me in my search of the perfect Sheltie.
Pretty as a picture. No wonder I fell in love with Kim's father...
Thank's also to Ingrid Myklebostad,
Tooniehill Shelties in Norway (also an email-friend) and Sylvia Ardenstedt,
Evros Shelties in Sweden that has backed me up with facts about Kim's relatives, comments about what to look for in a puppy and plenty of great tips. And thank's to Anna in Sweden, Kathy in USA and all the rest of you (you know who you are!) who encouraged me to wait, and not go for the first puppy i saw, for all your kind words and help!
We were allowed to name Kim ourselves, so after some hard thinking, we decided on Unique Dream, because he is a dream come true to me...
Hugs and Sheltie kisses from Kim with family Karin & Roger

Kim is now examined for Hip dysplasia with the results A, and I also X-rayed his elbows, they turned out to be fine (no remarks). So now we can start training for real without having to worry about injuries of that kind :-)
