Kim is today 9 weeks old. The first time we visited town to do some environmental training, Kim thought that the traffic was scary. Plenty of noise - isch! We live in the middle of the wood, so there is not much traffic here... The second time we went downtown, he also disliked the traffic for a little while. Until he discovered that he could chase the cars! And that he managed to scare them off every time!! ;-))
When our neighbour came with his tractor and unloaded an entire trailer with birchwood just outside the house, Kim was totally cool... What, a rattly tractor is nothing! The farmers horses a bit further down the road he really doesn't like though. We'll see if I can help him change his mind eventually.
WHAT is that?? I'd better hide at mom's feet!

Yesterday we went to see the vet. My Toypoodle Tintin has been limping since june, so this was the fourth revisit. I brought Kim for environmental- and social training. The vet became immoderate overwhelmed by Kim! And Kim returned the affection... It turned out that his first dog was a tricolour Rough Collie with almost the same markings as Kim has.
Since the veterinary clinic is just across the road to where I work, I took Kim over there too and watched the trucks when they came and went and got loaded. One of the drivers couldn't help commenting how calm Kim was, he just watched curiously at everything that was going on in there... In to the icecream making he is not allowed to go, the swedish national food administration would probably not appreciate that ;-)) But all my friends came running out when they heard I had the puppy with me. Several of them wanted to keep him for themselves... There was even one that ordered a puppy from him! So, if I have that kind of plans for the future :-) Kim thought they smelled exciting. He tried to eat them, not strange, since producing icecream makes your working clothes dotted with both vanilla and chocolate...
Today the rain is pooring down, so we haven't done any outdoor training. Instead we concentrated on some "no-exercises". Gosh, talk about clever dog, he got it after ONE TRAINING! We played with a little toy for a while, then I placed it a bit away and calmly told him "No". Kim just looked at me and sat down. After praise and "go get it" he threw himself on the toy again. This training has not worked during feeding time yet, but then again, he loves food...
He hasn't destroyed anything since he tore down a piece of wallpaper and chewed off one of the cables to the computer... Guess he is happy with all the toys and bones he has got!
Kim is sending a proud greeting to his father, Norwegian and Swedish Champion Sunborne Tip Top Tric Track, "Drillo", that after this past weekend also earned the titles Danish and Nordic Champion, and by that also qualified for Europes largest dog event, the Cruft's dog show!!!
Sheltiekisses from Karin & Kim!
